2. HOME will research areas most affected by HIV/AIDS and work together with other organizations to seek out AIDS orphans who can benefit from the HOME program.
3. HOME will review the results of P.L.E. (Primary Level Examinations: Completion of Primary 7) and consult with schools regarding orphans who have excelled in their
Primary studies, who will not however, have the financial means to continue to Senior 1.
4. HOME will network with other local NGO’s (non-government organizations) to locate and identify orphans who can benefit from the programs offered by HOME.
SELECTION OF SCHOOLS FOR STUDENTS OF HOME:
The following points will also be considered when choosing a school for students of HOME:
1. Child Rights (all schools considered by HOME must have a NON-VIOLENT
approach to discipline. Any school found to beat their students will be rejected outright by the Governing Body of HOME)
2. Programs and levels of education offered (i.e. not all schools offer A Level Sciences which may be an area a student of HOME excels in)
3. Proximity (some students will need to be monitored more closely than others and will need a school within a reasonable distance from the HOME compound so as to enable the Governing Body to visit that student on a more regular basis)
4. Preference (some students may have reasons of their own for requesting a given school. This will always be considered by the Governing Body of HOME, as the founders believe that just because you are helping someone, you need not put in place absolutes)
5.Affordability (some school fees will be beyond the capabilities of HOME’s budget, and schools requiring fees that are too high will be passed up by the governing body of HOME)
