ACCOUNTING:
The Treasurer, as well as the administrators and secretary of HOME will ensure that proper books of accounts are kept and maintained. Special attention will be given to the organization and accounting for all money received and expended by the organization and the receipts thereof. This means that the books will always reflect a true and fair view of the financial state of the organization, and will be open and available for viewing to the Board of Directors and the Patron.
In regards to monies given to any individual on behalf of the organization, such monies shall immediately be surrendered and handed over to the treasurer or in his/her absence, the secretary shall take the money, account for it and make sure it is banked appropriately on the HOME account.
The HOME organization will have accounts both within and outside of
Uganda, provided the deposits and balances of these accounts be revealed to the Board when requested.
EVALUATION PLANS:
HOME will hold a staff meeting at the end of each week in order to evaluate the success of the week’s events as well as the progress of all programs.
HOME will also hold quarterly Organizational self-Assessment meetings, the results of which will be forwarded to the Board in the form of a written report.
At least once a year, the Program Director of HOME will network with other organizations and receive an external evaluation filled out by another organization in the form of a questionnaire, which will then be forwarded to the Board of Directors for further review.
Once per year, a member of the Board of Directors (from the international community) will visit the HOME headquarters in Uganda and personally evaluate the program, and administrators face to face. This Board Member will then journey back to Canada to report his/her findings.
ADVOCACY PLANS:
HOME will work to publicly support and recommend the needs of Ugandans orphaned in their teen years who are in need of a home and the opportunity to complete their education. HOME will network with other NGOs and raise awareness in the community in which it serves.
The Administrators of HOME will journey to Canada once every year in order to hold a General Assembly as well as advocate for the organization’s programs and plans, and to raise awareness within the international community.
