Dear Friend,
We hereby introduce you to HOME (Locally known as OMUKA meaning "home") Uganda, which is a non-government, not for profit organization supporting both male and female orphans between the ages of 13-18 years.
Home is located in Uganda, East Africa with its head office in Kampala Uganda. Home is a community based organization which was started in 2007 by two individuals who recognised the rising number of orphans unable to complete their education due to lack of resources, finances, family, and shelter.
HOME works to provide shelter, nutrition, counselling, and education opportunities for these less fortunate children. Our goal is to assist these children in becoming healthy, independent, functioning adults in society.
HOME will run two corresponding programs: one for boys, which will be based within the HOME compound and a second program for both boys and girls which will sponsor education for youth who live outside of HOME with a relative or a family friend.
Please take some time to read this site and familiarize yourself with our organization.
It is our deep hope to join forces on a global level to ensure a brighter future for these young Ugandans. And so, we kindly request that you consider joining us in our struggle in whatever way you see fit.
Thank you for your consideration and we hope to hear from you.
Yours Faithfully,
Mugabi Rogers
Executive Director of HOME/Omuka.
"When one helps another, both are strong.”
This is a powerful German proverb, it speaks to the power we have to actually make a difference! Though we be one person….we can change another persons world...thus changing our own.
Sometimes the needs seem too many, too much...how can we affect change? It is overwhelming….the thing to do is to act….to see the need, and then to move...to do something!
By doing our little bit...and others doing their little bit….soon we are all doing a lot—TOGETHER! And you will find that you feel strong….that you have this new inner joy, and a continued blessing that reaches into the other areas of your life and sheds light...because you have connected with someone who needs you, and you find that you needed them as well, to teach you about being thankful, to teach you about living with joy, and you’ll find that your eyes are finally open, and what you see is humanity, and what you feel is love...and hope. Hope for all of us.
I believe that when we make one step towards helping each other, God takes us the rest of the way and multiplies the blessings all around. The possibilities are endless…
I’ve been there, I’ve experienced this transformation and seen the affect one person can have...I encourage you to consider this mission as a way that you can actively be engaged in the world...to act….and make a difference.
Faithfully,
Lola Eidse
Program Director of HOME/OMUKA Uganda
